Latest Releases / Food of Richmond : The Old Original Bookbinders & News about Shoku-King« Last post by katsudon on May 23, 2012, 08:10:26 PM »From their website: Locally family owned and unique to Richmond, Bookbinder's offers the perfect combination of rich history and atmosphere. Close to the James River in historic Tobacco Row, steak and seafood lovers will enjoy the ambiance of exposed beams and brick walls in this refurbished tobacco warehouse. From steak to lobster to seafood, each dish is intricately prepared and beautifully presented for a fine dining experience that will leave nothing to be desired. The Old Original Bookbinders was a steak/seafood restaurant opened in Philadelphia in 1865. It is now located in Richmond, and I finally had the chance to give it a try tonight when my dad gave me a $50 gift card. Now, for our meal, and the pictures that follow, We've ordered the following (For those of you who wants to save a little money, order all seafood, I only did that since I'm watching my weight and high blood pressure) Bread - Bread is bread. Seared Cajun Tuna - Served rare with sweet soy glaze and wasabi. I couldn't taste the sweetness, but still this appetizer really hit the spot. The cajun spice wasn't overpowering and it a good start for this great meal. Stuffed Atlantic Cod - stuffed with crabcake stuffing and the sauce is Buerre blanc sauce sprinkled with sliced spring onions. Asparagus - Everything is a-la-carte, so I choose steamed asparagus topped with hollandaise sauce. A pretty safe and standard choice. Pan seared mahi-mahi - pan-seared mahi-mahi topped with 3 fried oysters. the sauce is horseradish infused cream sauce. Creme brulee - You know what this is, a sweet ending to a nice meal. Total cost before the giftcard: 107.12 (Thanks dad )For those of you looking for new chapters of Shoku-king, since the next arc is 5 chapters long, I've decided to do them all at once, they're in typesetting now, so it won't be long.
